Notes on the Epiphany of the Lord

This has been edited since it was first posted.

This actually started out as a summary of my posts for the Epiphany of the Lord but I decided to posts for New Year’s Day, the 1st Sunday after Christmas and the 2nd Sunday after Christmas. Over the years I have tried to follow the lectionary but the Sundays between Christmas and New Year’s always seem to vary as to what they are on the lectionary calendar. I also may have used Scripture readings for other dates (such as New Year’s Day) with the listed lectionary date.

The one thing that I have been able to do in compiling the list of sermons is discovered which ones I do not have stored electronically. There was a period of time when I was at Walker Valley when my printer was not working and I wasn’t comfortable putting the lap top on the pulpit. So, while I have versions of the sermons written and stored in a file somewhere in the basement, there are available to be posted right now. Perhaps sometime in the future, I will be able to get those stored electronically. Then watch that the technology will change and I will lose them.

Sermons given but not stored electronically

In that case, my notes for that Sunday are here at “Notes on the Epiphany of the Lord“. [...]
