I am presently a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Newburgh, NY. When I refer to my home church in the present tense, this is the church that I am referring to.
I have been a certified lay speaker in the United Methodist Church since 1991.
I served as a lay pastor at various locations from 1995 to 2005.

Tony, I thought your talk was very effective today at Red Hook. My wife and I were visiting the area and knew Joan so surprised her by just showing up. Even though you baptized the pulpit (yes, it was only water you spilled), we thought the whole message was crafted well and effective.
