“Notes for July 4th”

These are my messages, posts, and thoughts for the Sunday before the 4th of July or related to the 4th of July. I do tend to use the same examples but they come from my life. It would be very difficult for me to be considered a patriot in today’s political climate because I think freedom is more than flying a flag. I have said it on a number of occasions that my family has three flags that we do not fly; they were given to us from a grateful nation and are not meant to be flown. But they are reminder that freedom is more than a word and that it comes with a cost.
